I want to use animal-safe product, but I do not know which brands are animal-friendly.

L'Oreal stopped animal testing on its entire range of cosmetic products fourteen years ago.





Last year alone, we spent over 拢lOm on funding alternatives to animal testing and have achieved some important successes, especially linked to the development of reconstructed skin models. These human skin models, developed from human skin cells by means of in vitro techniques, are used to obtain a better understanding of the biological mechanisms of skin and to evaluate the efficacy and tolerance of our products.

Most products in drug stores tests on animals. Thats why i dont really shop in there and only at department stores. Check on the back and if it says ';not tested on animals'' than obviously its not tested. =] Report Abuse

Here's the thing: Many big brands that have developed only in the last 20 years or so (Bath %26amp; Body Shop is an example) make that claim. But older companies such as Revlon, Clairol, Max Factor, etc. were around in the 50's and 60's when animal testing was normal and expected for safety reasons - too many new chemicals! So even if they no longer do animal testing, they are unable to make that claim. And the new companies that use the same ingredients that the older companies did all the groundwork testing on, they get away with making that claim. Or they say ';Finished product is not tested on animals.'; I'm just saying that these newer companies aren't virtuous. They just didn't do all the dirty work that the older companies had to do to determine which chemicals were safe for human contact.

Wait, L'Oreal does. And it now owns the body shop, so...
L'oreal i'm not that sure about. Dove doesnt't use animal stesting nor does E45, but that's all i know of.

Urban Decay does not test on animals and their brushes are animal-friendly (they don't use animal hair). They also have a wide range of products that are ';vegan,'; containing no animal products.





In addition to not testing on animals, they affirm that none of their suppliers have tested raw materials on animals, which is probably much more important. 100% cruelty free throughout the production of their cosmetics.





They have *the* best eye shadows, to boot!
Clinique is the only one i've found, and they are the best for my skin which is very sensitive.





They are pricey.. but if you can afford it, they are well worth it.

Not sure which ones - I remember Avon saying they would stop using animal tested products. But can't say for sure.
